n order to reinforce the team in Amsterdam, we are looking for a

REACH Specialist

As a REAH Specialist, you contribute to Tosoh's REACH activities by actively managing all REACH

related tasks for timely completion as well as correspondence and collaboration with relevant

authorities for the registration of our products in the target markets

This position reports into the Managing Director.

Your challenge:

  • Act as the point of contact for Tosoh Corp on REACH, GHS-CLP and SDS matters
  • Represent Tosoh within REACH/ Regulatory bodies in Europe, the UK and Turkey
  • Represent Tosoh ( for technical issues) within Industry Associations
  • Monitor REACH-IT and REACH email accounts and take follow up actions if needed/requested
  • You follow the latest regulatory developments, keep abreast of legislative changes and take care of their timely implementation if required.
  • Support and assist Tosoh Corp Japan to submit registrations outside of Europe (Korea, Taiwan, ..)
  • Are the contact person for external Consultants in the field of chemicals (intermediates, biocides) for REACH registrations, REACH file updates; SDS, GHS-CLP and Poison Center Notifications updates
  • Co-operate closely with Business Development & Sales Managers
  • You provide training (internal and external) on REACH, GHS-CLP, SDS and other regulations as required
  • Work together with external parties like toll manufacturer and warehouses to provide up to date safety info.

Your Profile:

  • Have a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemistry or related field
  • Have 5+ years of relevant experience in a REACH environment
  • Are strong in communication, both oral and written
  • Can work well independently and in a team
  • Have strong project management skills, and are used to work with deadlines
  • Write and speak English fluently, Japanese and Dutch are a plus
  • Are a strong team player
  • Are willing to travel occasionally

... with a passion for organic chemistry

Your challenge:

After a short training period including training in Japan, you will be responsible for:

  • Marketing and sales of our organic intermediate products in Europe
  • Maintaining existing business and excellent relations with customers as well as distributors
  • Identifying new market needs, business applications and opportunities
  • Closely collaborating with our colleagues (sales and R&D team) in Japan to find the appropriate solutions for our customers

Your Profile:

  • You have a Bachelor or Master degree in Organic Chemistry
  • You have a first Sales experience (3-5 years), and preferably a track record in successfully developing new business
  • You have a drive for results and success
  • You have excellent communication and presentation skills
  • You are a strategic thinker and a 'bridge builder'
  • You have excellent analytical skills. You like to think forward. You understand your customers
  • You enjoy working in a cross-cultural environment and are open to other cultures and mindsets
  • You are fluent in English (written and spoken). Being able to properly express yourself in Dutch and/or German is a plus
  • You will be based in Amsterdam, but required to travel internationally on a regular basis
